Short version: your signatures and documents stay on your device.
What happens to what you create
Typing, drawing, photo clean-up and PDF signing all run in your web browser. Images and PDFs you choose are read by your browser and are never uploaded to SignatureSmith or anyone else.
The AI signature generator
If you press “Design my signatures”, the name and the brief you typed are sent to our server and on to an AI model (OpenAI, through Vercel AI Gateway) to choose font designs. No images are sent. We do not store these requests; the AI provider processes them under its API terms, which exclude training on API data by default.
Stored in your browser
To save you retyping, the site keeps these in your browser's local storage: your last typed name, font and ink colour; your last AI name and brief; and any signatures you press “Save” on (up to 12, as small PNG images). They never leave your device.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics service, to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies or track you across sites.
Contact
SignatureSmith is an independent free tool. It has no accounts, so there is no personal data held about you on our side.
