Improve your signature
Upload your signature and make it clean: no paper background, solid ink, thicker faint strokes, sharp edges, straight and high-resolution. It all happens on your device.

What each control fixes
- Ink cut-off. Decides which pixels count as ink. Drag left to remove grey paper texture, or right to keep light strokes.
- Even out shadows. Corrects a phone photo that is darker on one side. It estimates the paper brightness across the page and divides it out.
- Stroke thickness. Grows (or shrinks) every stroke by whole pixels. Use it for a thin ballpoint signature that disappears when printed small.
- Crisp edges. Turns half-transparent edge pixels solid or clear, so there is no grey fringe on coloured backgrounds.
- Straighten. Rotates a photo taken at an angle so the signature sits on a level baseline.
- Output resolution. 2× and 3× smoothly resample the cleaned strokes, for print or high-DPI screens.
- Ink colour. Recolours all ink one solid shade. Black or dark blue suits most documents.
Start from a better photo
- Sign on plain white printer paper with a black gel pen or felt tip. Ballpoint gives thin, broken lines.
- Sign larger than usual, about 8 to 10 cm wide.
- Photograph it in daylight, with the phone directly above the paper so your own shadow is not on it. Don't use flash.
- Fill most of the frame with the signature.

Improving a signature: questions
How can I improve a low-quality signature image?
Upload the photo or scan. The enhancer evens out the lighting and removes the paper. Then use Stroke thickness to fill in faint or broken lines, Crisp edges to get rid of the grey halo, Straighten to fix a tilted photo, and 2× or 3× output if the original is small. Download it as a transparent PNG.
Can I make my signature darker or bolder?
Yes. Pick black or navy as the ink colour so every stroke becomes one solid shade. Then raise Stroke thickness by one or two pixels. Turning up Crisp edges also makes faint, half-transparent pixels fully solid.
Does upscaling add real detail?
No tool can recover detail a photo never captured. The 2× and 3× options resample the strokes smoothly and sharpen their edges, so the signature looks clean when it is printed or shown large. For the best result, photograph the signature again at a higher resolution.
How do I make my handwritten signature look better?
Image clean-up fixes the file, not the signature itself. To improve the signature, keep a consistent forward slant, make the first capital bigger and end with one finishing stroke. Our step-by-step guide on how to make a signature shows each change with your own name.
Is my signature uploaded to improve it?
No. The enhancer runs in your browser on your own device. The image is never sent to a server.
What resolution should a signature image be?
About 600 pixels wide is plenty for documents and email. For print, use 3× output or the SVG from the typed or drawn tools, because those stay sharp at any size.
