What the AI decides for you
A good signature is a set of small decisions: which letters to keep, how much to slant, where the energy goes. The AI makes those choices from your brief:
- Name form — full name, “J. Doe”, first name, or initials only.
- Hand — one of 27 handwriting fonts, matched to how formal or personal you want to look.
- Slant and spacing — a forward lean reads as energetic; upright reads as calm.
- Finishing stroke — underline, swash, loop or a full stop.
Each card says why it was chosen, so you can steer the next round with a better brief.
Why it doesn't generate an image
Image models are poor at spelling and produce blurry, background-filled pictures that are hard to place on a document. Here the AI only chooses the design; the letters come from real font outlines, so your name is always spelled correctly and every download is a clean, transparent vector.

How does the AI signature generator work?
You enter your name and, optionally, how you will use the signature or the feel you want. An AI model (OpenAI GPT-6 Luna via Vercel AI Gateway) chooses eight combinations of handwriting font, name form, slant, spacing and finishing stroke, and explains each choice. Your browser then draws them as real vector signatures.
Does the AI see my handwriting or documents?
No. Only the name and the short brief you type are sent. Signatures are drawn in your browser, and nothing you upload elsewhere on the site is ever sent to the AI.
Is the AI signature generator free?
Yes, with a fair-use limit of a few requests every ten minutes per visitor to keep it free for everyone.
Can I edit an AI design?
Yes. Note the font and name form shown on the card, then open Signature fonts, type the same name form and pick that font to adjust slant, size, flourish and ink.
What if the AI is unavailable?
You still get eight designs: the page falls back to a built-in set of variations generated from your name, so you are never left with nothing.
